Charles Ives and Carl Ruggles, New England Transcendentalists and maverick
composers of the early twentieth century, left a legacy of iconoclastic
music. My work has focused on the entire canon of these composers,
especially the works that they left unfinishedsome merely in sketch form.
The pianist, editor, and colleague of Ives and Ruggles, John Kirkpatrick
(1906-1991), with whom I studied, assembled various of the sketches into
performable editions. I am proud to have continued that work and given the first
performances of much of this great music.

The Uncovered Ruggles and The Unknown Ives, Volume II, are available now at New
World Records. The Unknown Ives (volume 1), originally released on CRI,
can be purchased by contacting me.

"[The Unknown Ives, Volume II]...offers the Ives collector
more thorny, visionary, knuckle-busting material to delight and amaze. 16 pages
of detailed notes help us see the composer through his music in a way which is
a model of annotation."
